Pressurized Membranes

Posted by

In order to get great quality drinking water, you will want to consider a reverse osmosis system for your home. 602abcWater offers a 5 stage system which means the water will filter through five different stages to get the purest quality drinking water. One of the most important stages of the reverse osmosis system is the pressurized membrane.

The pressurized membrane is the fourth stage filter and is used for reducing dissolved solids, including the range of toxic heavy metals and other harmful contaminants. It will remove 95 – 100% of contaminants like sodium, aluminum, copper, mercury, calcium, phosphate, iron, silver, chloride, magnesium, zinc, nitrate, silicate, cyanide, sulphide, nickel, bicarbonate, manganese, ammonium and barium as well as removing 97% of bacteria. These thin film composite semipermeable membranes filter the water down to 0.0001 micron (a human hair is approximately 50 microns.)

These membranes are mounted on the reverse osmosis system above the three filters. The way the membranes work is water is pumped into the first three stages before it reaches the membrane. The water is then forced through pores. The pores sizes are from .1 to .0001 micron. These membranes are specified to provide durability and chemical compatibility.

The pressurized membrane provides high quality regardless of variations of incoming water conditions as long as they are intact.
